Cris here. I absolutely love garden green beans and I love cooking them all day in my slow cooker. Mikey made you a video of this deliciously simple recipe.
This recipe is so easy and perfect for cooking up a big batch of green beans for a potluck or as a delicious side dish for a weeknight dinner. The bacon, onion and broth along with the cooked down beans create an amazing dish that will take you back to grandma's kitchen table. In my opinion, these slow cooker green beans take comfort food to a whole new level.

Notes on Cooking Fresh Green Beans
- We use cocktail onions and bacon bits to make this a dump and go recipe. You can fry up regular bacon and crumble and slice up a yellow onion instead if you would prefer.
- You will need a large slow cooker 6 qt or larger to hold all your beans.
- If you are using fresh beans from the garden you will want to wash and trim your beans beforehand. If you cannot get your hands on some fresh beans from the garden, you can oftentimes find them at the grocery store in the produce aisle.

- As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. - All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes should always be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.
